If you wish to sell your home on the open market (not a private
sale) the Government say that you must now provide potential buyers of your home with certain Information. This information
must be contained in a document called a Home Information Pack or HIP and must be ordered before marketing of your home
can commence.
The pack draws together the normal legal documents and searches relating
to the property and its sale, only at a much earlier stage in the process than has previously been the case. Two new
documents are included; one is a required document – the Energy Performance Certificate or EPC; the other – a
Home Condition Report or HCR, is currently an authorised document
